Ahmadinejad

Transaltion of Ahmadinejad’s speech in this video:

Ahamadinejad: something difficult is over but a more difficult time has begun. I hope that the end of this difficult stage will bring us to the end of what we have been waiting for. An immense energy from inside to the outside of the country is to free itself rapidly and is pushing toward the Islamic progress. Everything we wanted to do is happening. This needs a strong theory and practice. And the best place for the first time to keep the movement is here in qome – among those who live, breath and study for the realization of a Islamic government.

It seems that the moment for those conditions are favorable and I solicit your help and am at your service as an individual who perhaps did not play an important role in this movement. The essential is the movement, an immense movement. It is an immense movement or as you have noticed is a gift. It is a gift that requires a particular attention. I hope that they are the first grand upheaval on the planet. I solicit your help as an individual who is a simple mean in this affaire but on whose shoulder the responsibility rests.

We must mobilize all the potential intellectuals in this movement for the realization of Islamic laws, of Islamic justice and of setting up an Islamic Model society in our dear part of Iran. I believe this is possible. If it wasn’t possible, we wouldn’t have been able to impose this stain. It is understood and foreseeable that in Tehran an organization be ready.

And here, if your honor and friends come together to form a responsible group and follow this task. And using all these potentials in universities this same task is in process. Now, we can move toward concretization and operational point of view and respond to the Islamic culture. You know better than me the enlightened phrase of our Imam Khomeini is the reality, is the truth – today the world is thirsty for pure Mohammedan culture. You have seen some examples of this incident in situations and nations from youth that one does not expect in this environment show the world is thirsty for Mohammedan. I have seen scenes from when I was in Tehran but I also traveled elsewhere and it was apparent that other places were the same.

Certain individuals who do not have a long view may believe that other individuals may not have any light in them. But when one encounters from nearby, one sees that that is in fact not true. They are authentically in love and if we present them things the way they are, the entire world will follow. The entire world means a large majority of people will join us. In people as a whole the evil is limited. But one finds less light in those who claim to analyze. Even if light emanates from them, they are not frankly be attractive. They are not interesting and prevent light.

The depth of people is good. They are in love. Last year we had a discussion with a big religious leader whom you all know. The discussion was about coming face to face with people on the streets. I had a meeting and I wanted to have his opinion on a certain action that I intended to carry out. He told me that which I was thinking myself. I asked what do you think? He said what is your own opinion? I said it is the wrong action. We don’t have anything to give to our youth.

They have never had a pure breath. Many have never heard the kind of words from their own families. And in school they have not heard anything to understand the subject. And anywhere a pure breath was breathed by those people, The human race – in Islamic republic, the community is the least educated for that. So far, people’s reactions have been positive. People want to reach that pure Mohammedan culture. And in my opinion, the moment to diffuse is more favorable and moreover largely understood. And in this moment I am at your service. We hope that an organization equally follow in utilizing all the potentials.

We do not have enough time. I have an interpretation of an essential movement from its inception and in two or three occasions I have seen it to be accurate. I consulted with someone above me and that person agreed that my interpretation is correct. In general those who only see the appearance think that an event just happens. For example after the revolution (of 1979) they said the revolution won quickly. But you remember that we didn’t have a good organization. We didn’t have the army forces that were necessary. These are projects that people just want to do but common logic isn’t applied to those movements which are pushed by divine will and divine mercy.

When human beings have to find that potential sun so that they can support their weight and the movement would follow. The same thing happened with our revolution. The Imam said the nation that has a revolution can support itself and the potential was there. Things will fall into place much quicker than we think. The potential has been offered by god, me, I am at his service. I hope that in the same way God protects us, the rest will happen more quickly and will spread with understanding and spirituality. I would like to thank as an Iranian Muslim who will enormously profit from this miracle of what has happened in our country. I would like to thank you, great supreme leader, for entering this scene and directing the event. Also thanks to every one else and all those who made an immense move for God. (Then he continues thanking everyone). Today is one of the happiest days for those who believe.

The Islamic Republic of Iran was one big happy family. The high positions were given away not on the basis of merit but rather on the basis of relationship and uniformity. Most of the ruling body were cousins, sons, brothers, friends and etc. who were all hardliners and any deviation from this, meant their position and power would be reduced to a lower rank.

In order to do business in Iran and thrive, one had to somehow identify and tie himself with this regime which meant doing anything the regime asked including purchase and sale of weapons, torture, killing, and terrorizing when necessary to shut any group or anyone who disagreed with the regime.

Over the years of the regime being forced upon people, certain branches of the government gained immense power, thus pushing to oust those who disagree with them even if they were friend or family. Any thought of reform was rejected and those whose voices became too loud were threatened. Today, these branches which I will explain later have all the weapons, money and power. And unfortunately the reformist have empty hands and can only fight back through signing petitions and arranging protests.

As the economy worsened through sanctions imposed by the West due to fear of Iran's nuclear intentions, the regime did not suffer but the Iranians did. There was a high unemployment rate and those who worked, their salaries did not cover basic expenses such as food, rent and transportation. In order to keep the people quiet from complaining, the government started to give certain liberties to the masses such as allowing them to dress less conservatively and to to express their opinion with a civilized tone. And of course, thanks to President Bush threatening to attack Iran over its nuclear intentions, the Iranians became more and more unified to fight back.

Then came President Obama who was willing to open dialogue with Iran. But Ahamdinejad's rhetoric had not changed much against United States. In the meantime, some members of the Guardian Council and high positioned religious clerics were unhappy with Ahmadinejad's Rhetorics and were in favor of opening dialogue and doing business with United States. So, the house divides and some start to back up Mr. Moussavi who is a reformist. But still Ahamdinejad's supporters have much more power than Mr. Moussavi's supporters. So, Ahmadinejad wins in what Iranians protest as a rigged election.

The protests continue for two days on the streets all over Iran. Khamenei and Ahmadinejad start to get nervous and warn the protesters to back off but they refuse. So, the Basij and the revolutionary guards are sent to use any means to shut people up. As more and more blood is spilled on the streets of Iran, some of the powerful clerics who had been keeping quiet start to now side with Mr. Moussavi. They are horrified over the brutal handling of the protesters. Of course this means nothing because the ones ordering and doing the killings are the ones with all the money, power and weapons.

One night at four Iranian ministries

I received the following from Iran. It was in Farsi and whoever sent it asked me to translate it. I only had time to do the first page which took me hours because my Farsi isn't that great. I will try to post the second page sometime tomorrow. You may find the post in Farsi here.

"One night at four Iranian ministries is hundred times worse than Guantanamo"

Many students from Tehran University have been questioned and are being moved to secret underground interrogation rooms. We hope that the students and others who are reading this will help find this hell hole of a place where it is impossible to sleep.

The students were arrested in a harsh manner with verbal abuse. Undercover plain clothed cops and uniformed police beat the prisoners and used foul and insulting language.

But this is not the worst part of the situation. Many may have been tortured mentally and physically. The arrested students who trusted the smiling kind uniformed guards that pretended to be students were taken aback when they got arrested and transported to the underground Iranian ministry. Later some were transferred to the Evin prison and they have not yet been released. Some have been tortured but the Iranian government dismisses this as student propaganda.

There were about 46 of us students transported in a minibus to an Iranian ministry. They had blindfolded us. In the bus there were chairs made of metal. The back of chairs were high and they forced us to lean our heads back against the chairs. As the driver drove, the guards would beat on the metal with a large sticks. The horrifying noise it made was unbearable to our eardrums. It was one of the worse mental tortures we had ever experienced. After awhile, from the rotation of the tires of the minibus and we could feel that we were going underground. After listening to the murmur of the guards, we knew we were in the underground of the Iranian ministry.

The room was about 100 meters and covered with heated black ashes. We could see the smoke coming off the ashes. They forced us to lay down and roll on the ashes. We had to roll in such a manner so that our heads would not touch the feet of the of the other row of prisoners. If our heads made the smallest contact with the feet of other captives, the guards would beat us with sticks and kick our heads and bodies. Then they would scream "you want a revolution" followed by non-stop verbal abuse that it is too shameful to repeat. There were at least 20 guards in civilian clothes.

Then they forced us to sit up and shouted to look to the floor or the ceiling. A few minutes later, they would beat our heads and the back of our neck with sticks. The guards who were more heartless than the others would kick us in the head and shout "why aren't you staring at the floor" even though no one had even dared to look up. We could hear workers who were breaking bricks and the the unbearable noise gnawed on our nerves. The guards claimed that the workers were just doing their job but we knew that they were trying to mentally torture us.

The students who needed to use the bathroom faced humiliating conditions. The bathrooms had no doors and the guards would look at us and time us when we urinated or defecated. We only had 30 seconds and if we needed more time, the guards would grab us and violently toss us outside of the toilet. One scene which I will never forget was when a student had just finished using the toilet in 30 seconds but didn't have time to put back his clothes. The guard kicked his naked male member and brutally tossed him outside.
